FOSTERING INTEGRATION - 3 FREE Programs for Migrants (running July to November 2019)
EMPLOYMENT - support group for unemployed adults, free workshops on employment in Australia, and one-to-one mentoring from a local professional.
What every beginner needs! Learn how to use the internet, email, word processing in a small group environment with an experienced IT professional. Starts Tuesday 28th May, runs for FIVE weeks Every Tuesday from 1:30-3:00pm, cost is $75, register below.
art Group (Special Needs) Volunteer (URGENT)
We have an art group which is attended by adults with special needs. We are looking for volunteers, not necessarily good with art, but good with people, who can support the students to undertake their art tasks. This could also suit someone who is studying in the area of community services or disability. Requirements - people focused and patient Commitment - 8 weeks per school term - Wednesdays 1:30pm -3:30pm Benefits

ONE-TO-ONE ENGLISH TUTORS
We are looking for people to tutor English on a one-to-one basis at Dixon House. Materials and instruction will be provided. Requirements - excellent command of English and some spare time Commitment - weekly during the school term for an hour Time - this is flexible and can be negotiated with the student - we are currently in urgent need of volunteers on Tuesday evenings 6-8pm. VOLUNTEER HOMEWORK CLUB TUTORS
Additional tutors are required to support children in Years 4-8 with their homework and assignments. Tutors work with one (or two) children from different cultural backgrounds each week, using the workbooks, computers and educational games provided. The classroom gets lively with additional group activity during the session. There is scope for you to use your other talents to make the learning experience fun and engaging for the children. Requirements – Advanced English skills, love and patience for working with children, and teaching ability. Responsibilities – set up and put away resources and materials, prepare refreshments and clean up afterwards. Commitment - once a week on Wednesdays, 3.30pm – 5.45pm during school terms and attending training each term, with a minimum of 6 months commitment.
