WHAT IS IT?
- From July 2024 to June 2026, Dixon House will be undertaking an international student project with some funding support from the City of Monash.
- The aim of this project is to:
- Empower international students by addressing cultural and language barriers, fostering social connections, building self-confidence, and alleviating future-related anxieties.
- Cultivate empathy among local stakeholders by engaging them in activities that enhance their understanding of the international student experience.
- These are to be achieved through:
- facilitating mentoring relationships
- offering informative and relevant workshops; and
- offering enriching volunteering opportunities.
- Target groups
- international students studying, living, or working in the City of Monash
- suitably experience individuals wanting to serve as mentors, workshop presenters, and project assistants
